Performance upgrades

DRM Type R Racecar

Over the winter months we have been commisioned to build 2 type R race cars!
Here you will be able to follow the progress of the build.

Stage 1

We started with a standard Type R and completely gutted it, every last nut bolt and washer.

Stage 2

Involves the shell being prepared ready for seam welding/stregthening and full roll cage. This includes the tedius task of removal of underseal, seam sealer, and sound panels. Rear seat brackets etc are redundant and removed.

Stage 3

The shell is placed on the jig and checked for true. Seams now receive additional welding and various gussets/strenthening plates are added.

The Brammer Type R

This car just gets faster and faster!

Engine still remains pretty standard apart from an induction kit and baffled sump (in order to cope with the high 'Gs' of the race track!
Suspension and chassis is a different story!
As this is a track car rather than fast road, wev'e put a lot of effort into making the car stiffer, lowered and re-sprung with the addition of competion dampers. Steering geometry (front and rear) has been completly re-worked Strut braces front and rear with master cylinders moved to accomodate!
Brakes discs/calipers obviously uprated(also race pads) Dynamics rims with semi slick tyres! Weight distribution and corner weights have had serious attention.
